Today a handful of new SUPRA volunteers (Danielle, May, Mike, and Kate) spent their afternoons sprucing up the North Side Learning Center, in an effort to get the space ready for the beginning of classes. Our most important achievement? Transforming antiquated blackboards in 7 classrooms into new dry-erase boards. By priming and painting over the blackboard surfaces with an Ideapaint-like finish, NSLC's students and teachers will be better equipped for not only this year, but many years to come. In addition to re-purposing its blackboards, SUPRA vols cleaned out several NSLC classrooms, re-arranged classroom furniture, and installed file cabinets and shelves throughout the building.
